The Brothers for Life movement and SABC Education bring you a new weekly radio drama and talk show series funded by USAID and PEPFAR.
It launched on February 6th 2017 and will run for 13 weeks on 11 SABC local language radio stations until May 2017. The show features weekly interviews with men living positively with HIV and gives listeners a chance to ask questions to a medical expert.
The 30 minute show aims to:
Share knowledge and create demand for HIV testing
Increase discussions on intergenerational sexual relationships amongst men.
Showcase HIV disease progression and how starting treatment early and adhering to treatment leads to viral load suppression which in turn reduces chances of infecting others and reinfection.
Show the role of family and friends as support systems to encourage testing, support with adherence and healthy mental and physical wellbeing.
